Is it really free to start?
Yes. Sign up and you immediately get a free site at wehostyou.ca/u/yourname/ plus unlimited AI website building — free while hosted with us. No credit card, no sales call. Upgrade to $4.99/month only when you want your own domain.
What can the AI build for me?
Anything you describe. Tell it you want a bakery with a menu, an about page and a contact form, or a one-page portfolio — it builds the pages you ask for, in a clean black-and-gold design. You drive it; the AI does the building.
Why is there a footer on my free site?
Free sites carry a small donation-ware footer (it says "Don't like this footer? Make a donation — this website is donation-ware"). It's required on free hosting. Upgrade to $4.99/month and it's removed.
How much to publish my site somewhere else?
$9.99 to publish your AI-built site to any other website, and we hand you the files. We keep your project, so you can come back, make AI changes for free (while hosted with us), and publish externally for $9.99 again. No credits that expire.
Will my free site show up on Google?
Free sites are marked noindex, so search engines don't list them — they stay live and shareable by link, but won't appear in search. When you upgrade to a paid plan we remove noindex and the footer, and your site becomes fully searchable.
How do I get my site found on Google and Bing?
Once you're on a paid plan, we help you get listed: verify your site in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, submit your sitemap, and claim your Google Business Profile and Apple Business Connect. These are free and the biggest "get found" steps. See the SEO Workspace in your portal.
Do I have to talk to sales or support?
No. Everything is self-serve: sign up, build with AI, manage SEO, upgrade — all by clicking in your portal. There is no sales call and no "email us and we'll get back to you."
What does $4.99/month include?
Your own domain, unlimited websites, 50 GB NVMe storage, unmetered bandwidth, free SSL, professional email, backups to your own iDrive, the full management portal, and removal of the donation-ware footer + noindex. Billed $59.88 per year.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes — that's the paid plan. Point your domain at us (we'll guide you in the portal) and your AI-built site moves to it, indexable and footer-free.
Is my data safe?
Your backups go to your own iDrive account — we never hold your data. Your site files live on our managed servers with SSL and DDoS protection.
Where is my data hosted?
Your site, mail and backups live on Canadian soil. We are a Canadian-hosted provider, so your data stays in Canada under Canadian privacy law — not shipped to foreign jurisdictions.
Are you compliant / secure?
Yes. We Host You is built SOC2 aligned, with security and operational practices designed around that standard. Combined with Canadian hosting and your own iDrive backups, your data stays both sovereign and protected.
